The serialization component contains all the functionality to centrally create, deploy and manage unique product serial numbers based on GTIN. You can manage your existing serial numbers or create new, randomly generated serial numbers.

Upon request the serialization component assigns the platform a defined set of unique, randomly generated product serial numbers. In conjunction with a GTIN as EPC (Electronic Product Code) these can be processed in various formats, such as printable bar codes, which can be applied to the individual products.

Once you enter a serial number in the central Original1 database (TIR) the product is known to the system and can be checked for authenticity.

Product and item-related data and the assigned serial numbers are centrally stored in the Original1 TIR database. Authentication can be made from machine-readable codes using cell phones (mobile authentication) or Web services (for industrial scanners, POS systems, etc.). Manual input of the unique serial number is possible via the Internet (SmartEye Online).

You can check your products anytime, anywhere using SmartEye, the Mobile App from Original1. The system also enables you to define individual rules which trigger an automatic alarm function if irregularities are found.

Based on our smart platform, with very little effort our customers can include many business partners and consumers along the value chain in structured monitoring and information processes. In this way, for example, brand owner contract manufacturers can be incorporated into your process and manage the distribution or re-registration of product serial numbers simply online.

The Track & Trace component supports the GS1 EPCIS (Electronic Product Code Information System) standard. One of the functions of this standard is to enable the mapping of packaging hierarchies. This means that when an individual article or batches of packages are checked it is possible to establish the packaging hierarchy and therefore see whether a product was, for example, repackaged without permission.

Our expansion of the EPCIS standard to include geo-coordinates means that products can also be tracked using location data that is transmitted via smart phone mobile applications. The only requirement is that the end consumer activates the location determination function on their cell phone for the SmartEye mobile application. If this is the case, product data and user location data is transmitted every time a product authentication is performed.

The service also provides an analysis function which enables graphical processing of Track & Trace data. The analysis includes chronological and physical location of the product and the result of checks carried out and shows them graphically using a Google Maps display.

The Content Management function enables you to selectively provide information to your business network and to the end consumer. Business partners and end customers receive business or end consumer relevant information directly to their smart phones via our free mobile application SmartEye and SmartEye Pro.

This way an additional cost-effective marketing and communication channel is created through which you directly contact both your own mobile workforce and external business partners. For example, you can send your maintenance or repair team up-to-the-minute information such as maintenance instructions, installation instructions or warranty information via SmartEye Pro. Using SmartEye you can keep your end consumers up to date on product information, marketing campaigns or discount promotions.
